My wife and I have just become full-timers. We spent two full months at Forever Resort Tshipise, and loved every moment of it. The weather was exceptional, with day temperatures about 25 - 30° and evenings around 14 - 15°. The facilities were great and all the things to do there kept us on the go. Highly recommended! An orchid for them.
However, the onion to, and a warning about (to all fellow caravanners) the Limpopo Provincial Park in Tzaneen. This is situated next to the dam. When we tried to phone them, we found that the number given was no longer in use, so we decided that we would just pitch up and hope that there was space.
On our arrival, we were informed that there was space and that it would be R360 for the night. It was so much for the van, so much per person, so much conservancy fee, etc. Fortunately, the security man on the gate suggested that we go in and have a look before deciding, as the road to the camp from the gate was not in great condition. Well, to say it was disgusting is to rate the camp highly! There were only two vans there, belonging to construction workers. The electrical boxes were falling apart, the ablutions absolutely shocking and the sites in dire need of attention. Needless to say, we ditched the idea and pressed on to Pretoria to our daughter’s place.
We are now in Springbok, admiring the beautiful flowers, and will be staying here for a month before venturing down towards the Western Cape, and then back to Pretoria by mid-November.
